Menai Trio of Samia, Tudur & Math represent Wales at London Mini Marathon

On the day when Mo Farah broke the 33 year old British Men’s Marathon Record in the London Marathon, three Menai athletes lined up at the Mini Marathon to represent Welsh Schools. The three had earned their places on the team as a result of good performances at the Welsh Inter Schools and Welsh Championships Cross Country Races. Despite the very warm weather and early start, all three put in very good performances in the race which serves as the British Junior 3 Mile Road Race Championships.

In the under 13 boys both Tudur Harper Lloyd and Math Thomas were earning their first Welsh vests. Tudur was first Welsh finisher in 11th place in a time of 16 minutes and 54 seconds and he was closely followed by Math who was second Welsh finisher in 13th in a time of 16 minutes and 58 seconds.

Samia Jones lined up for her third appearance in London, this time in the under 15 girls race. She finished as first Welsh athlete in 9th place in a time of 17 minutes and 39 seconds.
