Undeterred by the cold and lung-busting steep hills, 6 young athletes from Menai demonstrated sheer determination and athletic prowess at the gruelling Ras y Barcud in Pontarfynach on Saturday. Despite the formidable obstacles, their efforts were rewarded with an impressive collection of medals.
Martha and Holly, exhibited exceptional skill and endurance with Martha’s outstanding performance earning her a well-deserved gold medal in the Under-14 category, and Holly showcasing her resilience to secure the bronze.
The Under-18s also demonstrated remarkable strength and tenacity over a brutally hilly course and in the face of stiff competition, with Beca bringing home a well deserved silver medal, followed up by Cara 5th, Caddy 6th and Tomos in 12th.
Everyone’s achievements underscores the depth of talent and dedication present among Menai’s young athletes, and is testimony to their hard work, commitment, and unwavering spirit. Congratulations again to all the young athletes who participated in Ras y Barcud for their achievements.
