A change of vest from Menai to North Wales, our athletes did us proud at the weekend. With the Welsh Inter Regional Championships held at Newtown Powys, we started with under 13girls, but unfortunately no representatives from Menai ! We then moved onto the under 13boys – Perry Marsland had a great race finishing 8th and Jacob Price 13^th, which ensured the boys winning team GOLD. Under 15 girls Martha Bown backed up her great race last week with another solid run finishing 3^rd, with Tamsin in a great sprint finish claiming the 4th place spot – while Holly Worth and Esyllt Owen backed the team up with great runs to claim team SILVER for North Wales. Under 15boy Osian Parry once again looked easy, winning another Welsh title whilst looking good for the next big race in Liverpool next weekend – North Wales under 15boys took the GOLD team title. The under 17/20 ladies event saw Beca Bown returning to some great form finishing 2nd in the race, whilst winning the U/20 with race GOLD – In the team saddle we didn’t have 8 finishing athletes to secure a team place. Under 17/20 men Miguel Jenkins was 3rd overall, but won the under 17 race GOLD. Alfie Shirland finished 14th over all and 7th under 17, the team was backed up by Tomos Morgan 25th and they collectively won a SILVER Medal.
