On the 9th October 22 Menai T&F were invited to take part in a Relay along the north coast between Prestatyn and Llandudno. This is a traditional event held by my old club Cannock and Stafford A.C.
There were two teams of four from each club spread over an overall distance of 25 miles.
Leg 1 from Prestatyn to Pensarn 8.5 miles. Dion Griffith Team C and James Smith Team D
Leg 2 Pensarn to St Trillo Church Rhos on Sea 7.5 miles. Harri Morgan Team C and Tudor Lloyd Team D
Leg 3 St Trillo Church to Lifeboat Station Llandudno 3.5 miles Becca Bown Team C and Alex Moseley Team D
Leg 4 Llandudno around the Great Orme to finish at West Shore 5.5 miles. Josef Morgan Team C and Miguel Jenkins Team D
To make the event competitive a handicap system was in place which meant that Cannock and Stafford had been given a 25 minute head start.
It wasn’t until the teams got to the Great Orme that our much younger teams caught Cannock and Stafford up, flying past them to pick up first and second on the day.
Our Team C of Dion, Harri, Becca and Josef finished ahead of Team D James, Tudor. Alex and Miguel to collect their well-deserved bar of Chocolate.
A really enjoyable day was had by all in this friendly international match!
